The map page will give you an overview of all your online ntrip accounts. It will show the location on the map of where the ntrip account is active. When clicking on the ntrip account it will give you additional connection information.
RTK network notifications #
On the map page at the left side of the screen (on mobile in the dropdown) you will see the network notifications
These notification will show if a specific ntrip account is connected or disconnected from the network. It will also show to which network you’re connected to and to which mountpoint of that specific network.
These network notifications will help you with the initial connection troubleshooting. Meaning that if you see a connection event coming in, you are communicating with our servers.
Additional NTRIP status information #
To get more information of a specific NTRIP account that is online on the map page, click on the little circle above the textbox. This will update the left sidebar with all the ntrip account parameters. (dropdown on mobile).
You will get the following parameters back from the ntrip account. Keep in mind that there’s a delay in the information displayed. The data displayed is just informational and is fetched every few seconds from the actual realtime data.
RTK Status #
The RTK status will give you the status of the RTK solution. This is good for troubleshooting and helping out the workers out on site. There are 3 statuses.
RTK Status – RTK FIXED #
This is the status you want. RTK FIXED means your RTK device was able to calculate an accurate centimeter position.
RTK Status – RTK Float #
The RTK Float status means that you are receiving RTK correction data but your RTK device is not sure about its accurate position. You will get this status when getting too close to buildings, trees or other obstacles.
For troubleshooting, this status means your RTK device is able to properly process the data but is having difficulties finalising the needed calculations. Check your surrounding if there are no interferences near you. Another option is to switch mountpoints. For example, if you’re close to a network (country) border and you are using a VRS mountpoint, some networks could have difficulties with this. In this case its best to switch to a NEAREST mountpoint and see if it solves the issue. Still having issues, please contact support.
RTK Status – RTK Single #
The good thing about the status RTK Single is that you are able to make a connection to the RTK network, meaning you entered your ntrip credentials correctly.
The bad thing about this status is that your RTK device is not able to calculate an accurate position. There could be a few reasons of which the biggest one is that RTK devices don’t work inside. So make sure you’re testing outside, away from any buildings or trees.
If you’re still in single status, please check the mountpoint. It could so happen that your device can’t handle the correction data. In this case switch between multiple mountpoints to see if it fixes the issue. If still having issues please contact support.
SAT Number #
This will show the amount of satellites the RTK device is using. Officially it should show the amount of satellites being used for RTK corrections, so not the total amount of satellites the RTK device is receiving in general.
Please note; we get this data from the RTK device itself and have no control over this. If for some reason the RTK device manufacturer is using different values that are not traditionally used, it will show this data. It could so happen that they use a default value and so the SAT Number won’t change.
HDOP value #
Long story short: below 1 is excellent, below 2 is good.
HDOP (Horizontal Dilution of Precision) is a measurement used in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) to indicate the level of error in a receiver’s horizontal position due to the satellite geometry. It is a dimensionless number, and a lower value means better positioning accuracy.
RTK device Location #
This will show the location of this specific NTRIP account. Keep in mind, this is the coordinate we get from the RTK device itself. This means we are not in control of which location is shown here.
Most RTK devices relay back their absolute location while some receivers format the coordinate to only 2 decimals, meaning its not sending the absolute coordinate.
